Arlene's Grocery is a bar and music venue in the Lower East Side of Manhattan In New York City. The former Puerto Rican bodega/grocery store and neighbouring butcher shop were turned into a bar in 1995. Once a spot for local punk bands, after expanding to a two room venue it became more multi-purpose, and now acts as an occasional nightclub, with an emphasis on sound quality despite the unusual location.
