2010 brings a brand new addition to the Nottingham social scene in the form of Spanky Van Dyke’s Eatery & Party House. From the team behind London hotspot The Lock Tavern in Camden, Spanky Van Dyke’s promises to be an exciting offering to Nottingham’s thriving social and live music circuit. Its ideal central location, just beside the University, positions it at the heart of the city where a cool décor and great food and drinks will provide the backdrop to a 650+ capacity live music venue and bar unlike any other in the city.
Featuring a wide and irregular array of live music events, DJ nights, and everything in between – from day time record fairs and vintage clothing swaps, to pub quizzes, tasty home-cooked food and a huge selection of drinks – Spanky Van Dyke’s will be a pioneering social space where art meets music, and pub meets club, all under the one roof.
The opening of Spanky Van Dyke’s marks the addition of another regional space to the expanding Fiveeightzero network of independent music venues, which currently also include Sheffield, Reading, Bristol, Bournemouth and Leeds, each with their own unique atmosphere and feel, but all representing a commitment to bringing together the best in art, music and creative talent both nationally and locally, in a venue with great food and drink that never fails to stand out from the crowd.
