If there really is a dj that picks from all musical genres, that’s alex bau. In 2002 he sets of with a track produced by CLR; from then on he plays around the world. In 2010 the album “Being Wayne Sidorsky” comes out, characterized by hard kicks, solid bass lines and electronic sounds that yell out: BERLIN! Already “Wayne Sidorsky” (last album track) makes the album worth while having.
Hi Alex, welcome on Soundwall!

It’s years that you’ve been playing around the world; is there a club do you prefer in particolare?

No, it would be unfair to name just one or even a few clubs. You can have an amazing night at Berghain in Berlin as well as you can have it outside at a small beachclub in Fregene just as I had both of them last year for instance. I don`t care too much about big names, I experienced that it`s always the people who make the party, I am just delivering the soundtrack.

You don’t play much in Italy, but in slightly more than a month you’ll play at Traintek. What do you think about it?

I heard a lot of good stories about the Traintek events, as far as I heard from my buddies like Pfirter for example I am convinced that it`s the perfect place for my slightly more dark approach to techno in its best sense. I am really looking forward to it, will be great, I am sure. And I don`t just say that in order to be the good guy, trust me. My music can be really fierce

“Being wayne sidorsky” came out in 2010; do you have others ideas for new records or do you think tou’re just gonna play live now?

Actually I never ever played live, even though my setup looks like. Playing only my own music would be boring for me personally, I was always the typical DJ, looking for great music from everywhere, no matter if on vinyl or digitally now meanwhile. And this is also reflected by my activities in the studio. Sometimes I love to be locked down in my studio and to create new stuff, sometimes I feel empty and depressed as even after hours there is no result. That`s a normal artitistic process, but trying to improve and experiencing these very special moments when you realize “Hey, this is a bomb, this sound kicks, this idea burns…” is what keeps me going all the time. It´s not my job, it´s my passion, both inside and outside the studio.

By now we know your musical knowledge is wide. Are there any particular records that have influenced you? if yes wich ones?

I was deeply influenced by a lot music with its roots in the 80ies in the Synthpop and Wave-scene. The whole new romantic movement and a lot of music in the 80ies was a stylistic breakthrough which determinded the whole music that came out afterwards. But there was also countless electronic music, Techno, House, Ambient, which left its marks on my innerself. Again it would be unfair to pick just a few tracks.

There are many ways to create a track: methodically working on the sequencer, following the likes of the pubblic or going on the moment’s feeling. how do you usally create a track?

The first and important thing is the mood you`re in, no doubt. then there is of course also a lot practical work involved, but most of the times it works like this that I have some specific idea, want to realize it and during this process I find so many new ways and options that in the most cases the final tracks don´t have anything in common with my basic intention. And I realized it`s not only like this in the studio, the best nights are the ones when you don`t follow a certain plan, but you have some interaction wiith the people and finally you find yourself playing tracks of your selection and variety you have with you, that you actually never thjought to play thois night!

Alex Bau Credo Remix Contest
After couple of outstanding releases on world famous labels such as Chris Liebing`s CLR or Technasia`s SINO, Alex Bau is about to confirm his place amongst the most succesful producers of techno these days. It`s not surprising that also his releases on his own label CREDO appear on playlists and charts of the topjocks.

Colors, not Shades, that`s what Alex tries to do push with the label, versatile techno with sounds, clearly positioned far beyond the countless and colorless minimal productions, and after ten release on his own he thought that it`s time to gain some “repaints” of already existing tracks on the label.

Of course, not something new in terms of remixes, but the special story about this project: you can become a part of a impressive list of remixers such as Pfirter, Gary Beck, Chris Liebing, Remute, Drumcell, Perc, Jonas Kopp and Secret Cinema.
After the four already confirmed remix 12“es of the mentioned artist you can be part of the fifth and last 12”, contianing the best newcomer-remixes!

This must be really exciting for uprising youn talented producers like you, isn`t it?!
Releasing a piece of plastic, black gold, remaining forever on a highly recommended, established label in times of digital overkills. Go, make yourself high-end, do your best remix!
