Born in Mexico but raised in Texas, Alyssa Barrera started an interest in electronic music at the age of seventeen. She traveled to the city of Monterrey, Mexico where she was introduced to the underground electronic music scene. She associates herself with the artist and promoters of the clubs and became fond of labels which inspired her, such as DFA, 20:20 Vision, Robsoul Recordings, and Ghostly International to name a few. By the age of eighteen she began to experiment with the decks and her sets became flawless. Within a year she played several times in the most prestigious clubs and got admiringly recognized for it. She got signed to Neim Recordings in the summer of 2009 after a beach party in Los Cabos, MX by label owner The Midnight Perverts(Neim, Get Physical). Alyssa has left genuine impressions on experienced DJs and producers who given her significant support such as Soul Clap, Tanner Ross, Zev (W+L), and Miguel Puente to name a few. Her sessions are based on dawdling cosmic Disco House to lazy low-slung soulful House, assured patterns of intrinsic vocals, and always worked up into a beat with plenty of body- making sure to maintain a vibrant atmosphere at the dance floor for an unforgettable night. At the age of twenty she moved to New York, NY in search of something fresh and distinct. Currently Alyssa will continue to study music and a variety of instruments to create every melody and beat as humane as possible.
