Andrea Fiorito is an artist driven by idealism, and fuelled by a restless creative spirit. From the experimental techno of “Tesi”, to his collections of releases on Cynosure, to the orchestral Argentine drama of his Get Physical debut “Proprio Tango”, he is an artist who has made music his life’s work. A native of Bari, southern Italy, Andrea recognised his own deep-seated creativity at an early age. Classical piano training from the age of 8 developed his musicality, while the filmmaking diploma he received as an adult helped to hone his unique auteur perspective, both on film, and in sound.

Andrea’s productions are a fearless combination of live instrumentation, minimalistic techno, and dissonant melodic elements that merge in unexpected harmony. His work process always begins with the kick drum, the track’s rhythmic heart, and the essence of body movement. His intricate arrangements bloom organically, creating extended melodic arcs that do away with standard 16-bar conventions. Through his work, Andrea is constantly seeking the penultimate marriage between acoustic and digital elements, using midi sounds, keyboards, and live instruments, developing each arrangement meticulously, over an extended period of time.
Andrea began buying records in 1994, learning and honing his skills as a DJ, and developing a love for underground house music. The sounds of Detroit techno and progressive soon beckoned, and with the introduction to minimal and electronica, he found his musical home. In 2002 Andrea became a core member of The Flame, the Bari record label and club night collective, and the vanguard of Italy’s contemporary house and techno scene. A staunch supporter of vinyl culture, Andrea views his commitment to analog DJing as an investment in his own community, and his deep understanding of the craft has led to notable bookings within Bari and further afield. Andrea has supported major tours by Craig Richards, Deep Dish and Steve Bug for The Flame, and headlined renowned spots in his own right, such as Watergate (Berlin), Guendalina (Italy) Bar 25 (Berlin), Arena Club (Berlin), Club Der Visionaere (Berlin), Goldengate (Berlin), Divinae Follie (Italy) and many others.
Drawn by its liberal environment and famed artistic freedom, Andrea relocated to Berlin in 2006. From his new base, he conceived his own successful ongoing club night, Too Wild Too Cool, and made his highly anticipated production debut for The Flame, with Santa Noche, soon followed by Heimat 35. A fateful meeting with Cynosure head Mike Shannon in Berlin led to a fast friendship between the two, and signaled the beginning of a partnership that has helped to define Andrea’s burgeoning career. His 2 EPs for Cynosure, Moderato Mistico and Moderato Zoologico, were supported by DJs like Mathias Kaden, Ricardo Villalobos and Onur Özer, and he was selected to launch Shannon’s new label Haunt in 2009, with Balada Tzigana. The same year, Andrea was sought out by renowned Berlin label Get Physical, who signed his track "It Must Be Love (To My Friend Tommy Lopez DJ)" for their Full Body Workout compilation. In 2010 that relationship was developed further, with his official label debut EP for the imprint, Proprio Tango.

With his productions receiving attention from DJs and music connoisseurs throughout the world, and further releases for Cynosure and Get Physical on the horizon, this is only the beginning for Andrea Fiorito and his uncompromising musical vision.
