Biography of Angela Bray | |
| Moniker(s) / | Fuse |
A Bostonian thriving on culture, entertainment and social media, Angela Bray (Fuse) lives for electronic music.
She was pulled into the groundbreaking array of beats around age 16 while scouring music blogs and came across an electro-infused house mixtape. Constantly listening to Pantha Du Prince, Pendulum and Deadmau5, Angela was the only one in her group of high school friends inspired by techy, trippy and thrashing sounds. And that’s when she took it upon herself to get more into the scene, whether on her own or with others from the electronic community.
After throwing together her own mixtapes, Angela progressed to playing [house] parties, spinning events and landing radio presences. Her show, FUSiON EDM Radio, airs twice weekly on SerenityFM’s electronic channel and SFR radio. The Monday episodes welcome local EDM DJs and producers to play live sets and be interviewed on air.
In addition to her GLOW Boston residency, Fuse has played Wonderland, Symmetry, Movement, and other parties at venues including Middle East Upstairs, Middle East Downstairs, RISE After-Hours, Wonder Bar, Felt Boston, Guilt Nightclub, Mantra, Think Tank, The Grand Manchester, and All Asia. She is sponsored by Koalacore Clothing.
One of her favorite quirks about Boston’s EDM scene is its community. Through her shows, nightlife presence and involvement, Angela enjoys opportunities to work and collaborate with the talent around her. Guests on her show have included Rich Chwastiak (The Wig), Matt Rohr (Fens), Re Psycle, Die Young, NE Tempo, NU.F.O., Kerry Leva, John Isaac, Beat Development, Bass Alchemists, and Danny Satori.
With a main focus on all things electronic, expectations may be everything from electro and trance, to progressive and minimal, to deep and dark house, to dubstep and moombahton.
When she’s not lost in mindblowing melodies, Angela remains in the realm. She manages social media at RISE, Boston’s only legal after-hours club where the best international, national and local electronic talent is brought to the decks. Before becoming involved at the club, it was during her first 1 to 6 a.m. night absorbing music through its killer sound system that Angela established her love for the music and the atmosphere it created.
Her blog, Electrocity, covers Boston’s electronic music scene. Through writing, collaborations and visual/audio media, she profiles and covers DJ/producers, events and the overall milieu. She also runs FUSiON Media, serving nightclubs, events and DJs in Boston's nightlife industry with social media management, content creation and event photography.
