Steyoyoke kicks off with a bang! Here we have our first release by I’m fine and Antonio Olivieri, a solid three track, floor-friendly blowout. ‘If I Were Music‘ is an EP that firmly establishes the label as one to watch out for in 2012.

The EP kicks off deep and atmospheric with the title track ‘If I Were Music‘: swirling synth pads and a low-slung bass line create a moody, classic deep-house journey. As the title of the 2nd track rightly suggests, ‘Your Ghost‘ provides a fabulously haunting dance-floor experience, blending smokey vocal hooks with an enchanting bass line. An equally strong closing track comes in the form of ‘Do Not Care‘, a deep, catchy and driving floor-filler.

As the clocks are poised to move forward heralding the beginning of hopefully a glorious summer, Silicone Soul's Darkroom Dubs label continue the crawl from hibernation to unleash the first of many exciting projects for 2011. Antonio Olivieri made his Darkroom Dubs debut with "The Old Days". Featuring on the "Winterdeep EP", which gained deserving attention from the likes of Seth Troxler, Ripperton & Wally Lopez. Now he drops "Memories", his first full length EP for the label.

Although Italian born, it's Berlin that's captured his heart with regular live appearances at Suicide Circus, Maria am Ostbahnhof, Brunnen 70 and K-Pax. Over the four tracks, Antonio's more traditionalist vision of electronics translate wonderfully into his productions. Although melodically introspective at times, each track has a warm and vibrant feel. Utilising dub bass, hypnotic synthesizers, emotive brass and a rhythm reduction that is reminiscent of early 90's, Guerilla Records -era UK 'progressive' house, yet all with a modern and futurist soul.

As they do every year, Silicone Soul and their Darkroom Dubs label, treat us to a taste of things to come in 2011. The "Winterdeep EP" is a three track selection of choice cuts, taken from EP's that are set to see the light of day over the coming months. As the title suggests, our three track plunge the depths to deliver the warmest beats in their attempt to keep our tooties toasty. First up are the Genova baed duo Concrete Jungle with a track taken from what will be their first ever release. The Anglo -Itailian duo are the driving force behind the Motel1989 project and club night in the city, and their love and understanding of deep house "for the soul", comes through brilliantly in the groovin, sultry, vocal sounds of "Motel Luv".

Next up is Antonio Olivieri, The Berlin based Italian has featured in "Silicone Soul's '2010 Top 10' with his track "Sandmann", and now the Scottish duo has invited him to release on Darkroom Dubs. Exclusively a live artist, Antonio's purist approach sees his groovy and melodic sound transfer brilliantly into his productions. "The Old Days" is a perfect example. Its dubby bassline, flamenco guitar and organic production work together to producee a beautifully hypnotic number.

Nadja Lind is a producer on the rise. Her superb deep, sometimes glitchy form of techno has been gaining her fans aplenty over the last couple of years. Her Lucidflow label has gone from strength to strength, due in no small part to the quality of her productions, and here she brings us more of the same goodness with, "Shakes". Remixed here by her label partner Helmut Ebritsch under his Soma alias, Hatikvah.

Welcome, Antonio Olivieri !

Antonio Olivieri, born in Italy, is a passionate music lover. Like an already heard story, it all began thanks to his parents who made him study classical guitar for 12 years. Apart from this “guided entry” into the music world, Antonio soon enjoyed the taste of exploring music in an independent way, slowly leaving the classical repertoire for a more genuine and even immature take on autonomous composing.

DJ-ing and producing tracks have been stimulating his aesthetics in both directions, which aided him to appear on 3 records at an early age on the Italian major label Saifam Group. This proved to be a too ‘mainstream oriented’ climate in the end for Antonio.

Tired of the Italian music scene and the social and political situation, Antonio left Italy to study in Munich. In 2008, he moved to Berlin, leaving lots of things behind him and trying to find his peace in a more rational and pleasant German society.

Fulfilling his philological view of the music business and the music itself, Antonio is exclusively performing live sets… a purist approach to the genre, this turns into a groovy and melodic live set which Antonio can freely manage in all of its parts and its arrangement for a more genuine live-feeling.

2010 sees Antonio busy with releases on various labels featuring his typical groovy and melodic style. A symbol of his personal and somehow funny view of music is certainly “Together E.P.” on the German label LustundFreu.de. As he states, his live set is currently becoming “a more dancefloor oriented walk through”funk, tech-house and love aiming at reaching a tasty mix of solid grooves and melody sequences”…
