Biography of AudioFun
|Real name / ||Matt Corry|
With original releases on Southern Fried, Ministry of Sound and NEWS alongside remixes for Steve Aoki, Crookers, Atari Teenage Riot and more, it’s been a busy start for 23-year-old Matt Corry better known as AudioFun.
Starting in 2008, AudioFun’s first EP ‘Sirens’ was released on Fatboy Slim’s “Southern Fried Records” and picked up support from the likes of DJ Dan, Herve, The Japanese Popstars and MSTRKRFT to name a few. A change of direction to the housier, less abrasive side of music has seen support come from Tiesto, David Guetta, Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki and more – a sound which he has currently pushed and developed.
In the past year, AudioFun released his “Sensor EP” with remixes from PeaceTraty and Supabeatz on Downright/Ministry of Sound, picking up huge support across the board from DJs of all genres including radio support on BBC Radio 1 and Galaxy FM. Summer 2011 seen a return to Southern Fried with the release of “Scorch/Going Home”. Remix wise, it was the busiest year yet with work for Crookers, Atari Teenage Riot, Steve Aoki, Spencer & Hill and more on labels such as Mad Decent, Dim Mak and Vicious.
Not just a producer - his career as a DJ has been just as successful. From 4000 capacity concert halls like the “Manchester Apollo” to 400 capacity basement clubs, the versatility and ability to please any crowd has seen him play alongside heavyweights such as Chase & Status, Steve Angello, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Laidback Luke, Annie Mac and Pete Tong to name a few. Residencies in the world famous superclub “Lush!” and the uber cool “Pout” in Manchester are testament to the above.
With 2012 having only just begun and remixes already out for Spencer & Hill (Dim Mak) and Vato Gonzalez (Southern Fried) alongside his own big room smash, “Cambio” on Vato’s “Crowd Control” mixed a ridiculously busy club schedule – this year is set to be huge. Stay tuned...
