will release some various artist EPs of new music by people who were
involved in the success of the label. Happy Birthday Sportclub!!!
We’ll kick off with Axel Bartsch who`s enjoyed a busy start to 2010 with releases on
yours truly, Get Digital and Suol (formerly Baalsaal). Next is Oddvar, who earned
much respect with his first Sportclub release in 2009, and driving it home we’ve got
Alex Niggemann, who`s getting big international attention with his releases on 8bit,
Supernature, Bla Bla and Be Chosen Records.
A1: The title “Body Music” starts the story, without hesitation it gets to the point with
this hat driven house tune. Carried by the melody of a deep house organ, the
groove increases, spiked with vocal fragments, up to the breaks, when the listener is
surrounded by a distorted 80`s disco vocal before the groove takes on again. Wow!
A2: Oddvar takes it to a slightly deeper level. In contrast to his previous rather classic
house tunes with a lot of vocals, this time he creates an affecting vibe with tricky
harmonies that pull you in without losing the groove and get everything vibrating.
B: This track is like a tsunami of House, building slowly and pumping with hits and stabs
till it rolls over us and gets every booty shakin`. We say “Fuck elegance and
moderation!” Here Alex gives it to us good and without detours directly to the
dancefloor. Party time! New York style powerhouse at it’s finest!
