Biography of Ben Annand | |
One of Los Angeles' top underground house and techno djs, Ben Annand has been an integral part of the electronic music scene since the mid-1990s. In southern California he has been resident at both Moontribe and Tropical for the past 11 years, and has played many a beach, boat, desert, mountain, and warehouse party. Internationally his credits include Wiggle at Fabric (London), Labyrinth Festival (Japan), Propaganda (Moscow), Festimad and Rave Goa (Madrid), and the Aca World Sound Festival (Acapulco), among many others. His music style spans from house to techno and is much better described in music than words, so please check his mixes here:

As long as he's been djing, Ben Annand has been involved in the organization of underground parties - chiefly Tropical, which has occurred 51 times in it's 11-year history. Like his dj sets, Ben's parties are meticulously put-together with the kind of attention that always leads to a quality result. He organizes for the love of throwing a good party rather than personal gain and has made Tropical non-profit: to date the party has raised over $5000 for charity.
Recently Ben has been spending more and more time in the studio, and is most excited about making music in 2010. Although extremely accomplished for a dj with no production credits, he is ready to take his musical vision to the next level and hopes to have tracks released towards the end of the year. Together with his djing, event organizing and work as an ESL teacher, 2010 figures to be an exciting and busy year for someone often called a workhorse of the electronic music scene. |
