Ben Castro was born in San Juan-PR and musically influenced by a Percussionist family. He was raised listening to the Puertorican/Cuban Salsa Music and his father's grooves of Congas & Bongos, that's why since childhood he developed a percussive taste in the world of rhythm. Ben’s immersion into dance music began during an extended stay in Madrid, Spain at the height of the house phenomenon. He then discovered the first techno tracks, clubs and raves, it was a true electroshock that will lead him to give life to a legendary career in what he so much felt in love...the electronic dance music and business. This highly technical production wizard finished production studies at Berklee University. As a Dj & Producer his actual style fluctuates between Tech House, Minimal, Deep House & Techno. His skills have taken him across some great clubs & events, playing at places like Miami's Official Pre WMC events, Atlanta's Club Opera, Detroit's Frisky, and New York's Cinema Diskoteka. Having the opportunity to perform alongside big talents in the industry such as; Wally Lopez, Adultnapper, Sultan, & Victor Calderone ''to mention a few''. As owner of two Booking and Production companies(Playhouse & The PR Minimal Militia)he tries to push clubs electronic music scene to different artistic levels. Having the opportunity to host events with top agencies including Berlin's AM Only, Clandestine, and Physical Bookings.

Passion to music have drawn Ben to PR's top club and radio station residencies such as Q Lounge, La Mega, Bacco, Pagana, The Water Club, Alfa Rock(Fusion Electronica), Kudeta, Club Milk, & Club Brava.



The PR Minimal Militia is a Dj/Producer & Promoter collective which started in the year 2005; it is influenced by the old electronic school and past generations. This union of Puerto Rican group talents represents today’s dance music scene in all the ways. They are the ones who run the actual underground & overground electronic music scene in Puerto Rico. Earning the love and respect of all the electronic young and old followers, they've kept the scene alive in these past few years. The PR Minimal Militia is composed by, Ben Castro (Artefekz Musik / PR), Alkalina(Bacteria Records/ NY) Da Dwek (Red Shield Records) & Mulattos/ J/Lati + J/Cruz (Cocoon & Half Seas Over Records/ Miami - Berlin). Also collaborating Djs : Ayran, Farah, Red, Luigi Rodriguez and Emiliano ( As Associates of The Corp.). They have a combined style that groups, Minimal, Techno & some Electro, working the local scene and it’s proliferating around the world. They have booked artists & worked with numerous top agencies including Berlins Physical Bookings & Clandestine Agency; Miami’s Dirty Gruv, & Detroit’s Frisky Radio.

Playhouse Group is a company for development and physical production of performing arts, radio, nightlife and culture. It´s responsible for many of the local electronic music events, also collaborating with international venues, companies & parties. Playhouse have presented Matt Darey, Dj Dara, Jen lasher, Marcus Beyer, Dave Rosario & Daniel Nicolle, Guti, Shaun Reeves, Marcus Beier, Bons, and Mayhem.
