Bleepfunk

Biography of Bleepfunk

Real name / graham fletcher

self  fed on a diet of Fad Gadget, New Order and Depeche Mode 12"s as a youngster, Bleepfunk AKA Graham Fletcher worked his way over the years through the electronic music spectrum via electronic body music, industrial and indie until he was dragged full into the world of detroit techno and chicago house via the legendary Colin Dale and Colin Favors show's on Kiss Fm. Next stop, the now primitive production world of Amiga sequencers and Casio FZ samplers.

DJing came later than most after many years of partying in Nottingham and London to deep house free party soundsystem DIY, Richie Hawtin and Wiggle warehouse raves in South London. Disillusioned with the increasingly rigid quantised state of mid 90's techno, Graham was introduced to the roots of house ( funk, rare groove and 'proper' disco) through fellow DJ’s. Relocating to Newbury, Berks in 2000 after the birth of child numero uno, Graham decided years of frustration at DJ's playing non- descript average music when out clubbing meant he ought to make his own stance behind the wheel's of steel.

At this time creative producers such as Mathew Herbert and Akufen rekindled Graham's love for underground house and techno and his sets began to represent a broad spectrum of genre's linked by a focus on electronic instrumentation and boundary pushing whilst keeping a firm eye on the dancefloor.

He describes his sound as "electronic dancefloor beats that inspire the mind, have funk, soul, melody , inventive ideas and that make you wanna shake your ass".
This might mean sets comprising of tunes from Tech house, Broken Beat, Dubstep ,Techno, Minimal/Quirky House, Dub disco, Downtempo, Electronica , Italo Disco, Beatdown, Electro or Electronic hiphop depending on the venue and set time.
Graham has DJed on the same bill as DJ’s / Live act’s such as  Luke Vibert, Radioactive Man, N Type, James Lavelle, DJ Pinch, DJ Muzzell, Derailleur, Mr C, Craig Richards, Justin Robertson, Billy Nasty for the Glade festival 2008, Bangface weekender 2009, underground promotions in Reading such as Stick-le-Brick, Checkpoint Charlie, Den One, Loopt and Plug N Play as well as venue's in his home town. Graham ran an annual outdoor charity gig, BLOOPTFUNK .

Currently incorporating Cycloops sampling and dub Fx into his sets, Graham squeezes the odd moments of production time into his busy life as a community musician, promoter and father of two. The First EP commercially available collection of Tracks dropped on May 1st 2009 on Control Tower Recs.
