Born and bred in the Rhine-Main area surrounding Frankfurt/ Germany, DJ and producer Christian (or Chris) Kionke was infected with electronic music before he
could even walk properly, when his dad introduced him to Kraftwerk at a very early age.
The infection soon took over his being and after years of partying throughout the 1990s to the sounds of legendary Frankfurt-based DJs like Sven Väth, Mark Spoon, DJ Dag or Pascal FEOS, he eventually started DJing for himself at a local club back in 1997-
heavily influenced by the so-called "Sound of Frankfurt" in all of its facettes.
His musical repertoire at this stage took in House, Trance, HipHop and Soul, but his taste pretty soon leaned towards the powerful wave of music originating
from his homeland!
Soon enough hooked by the more "pure" and "techy" approach to dance music, CK discovered DJs and producers like Chris Liebing, Johannes Heil, Anthony Rother
from Germany or Adam Beyer from Sweden, alongside the likes of Speedy J. and Umek among countless others- in what was "...really an eye opener", as he recalls.

Chris is a versatile DJ nowadays who can push music across the board keeping it fun, versatile, groovy and gritty through out.
This can be varied from chunky jackin house right through the numerous forms and shapes techno makes from minimal to tribal, from slow to beefy material and from overwhelmingly melodic tuneage to the classic House that Jack once built!
“It’s VERY important to remain open-minded about what you’re doing, so when I’m behind the decks it’s never going to be ‘just House’ or ‘just Electro’ or ‘just Techno’. More often than not it will be a mixture of styles that might include Acid, House, Techno, Minimal, even Breaks sometimes...you name it. It depends on the party and the audience at that very moment,its all about connecting with the crowd and seeing how far you can possibly go together... and just to have an effing blast all together as well”, he laughs.
Since the introduction of Traktor Scratch Pro, his sets have even become more eclectic and irresistible,
creating memorable moments on the dancefloor whenever being unfolded-
and 13 years of experience do truly make their presence felt behind the decks, playing live to audiences ranging from 50 up to 4000 people in a club environment.

Furthermore,
Chris can be heard on the radio twice every week, hosting two shows on various underground stations such as KICK RADIO (the only station recommended by Danny Rampling) and TWISTED ENERGY, both of them being deeply rooted in the UK and appealing to international audiences-
not only showing off his tunes and turn-ons of the week, but also featuring guest DJs and label features from all over the globe!

(Deepgroove, Tom Wax, Arthur Barr, George Perry, Jean Claude Ades, Colin Turnbull, Tony Williams/ Underphunk Digital, Full Barr, Tonarm Records, Flicker Rhythm Music, Rainer Weichhold, Gregor Tresher among many others ) is standing shoulder to shoulder with local german talent that deserves to be shining in a more prominent spot, introducing new artists such as
Patrick Decke, Toni Thorn, Stephan Hess, Adam Schock, C-Bass, Ladwein or DaRemy, just to name a few.
