| | Musically it all really started for me at my grandparents house in urban Santiago. In 1978 at the age of 1 I moved in with them.
My Grandpa, a wood turner who specialised in wooden musical instruments unintentionally taught me the meaning of depth in rhythm.
In a town ruled by percussive party sounds i.e. cumbia, salsa, samba, etc he was a serious Tango dancer and appreciator of the sound. Tango being the total opposite to other Latin American rhythms, a very serious and melancholic sound developed out of the brothels of the port city of Buenos Aires in Argentina.
