Dave Carnovale a.k.a. Crucial D has worked professionally as a DJ in Sydney and abroad for 18 years. Depending on the venue and / or event, he may be dropping anything from up-front dancefloor breaks, fat funk, afro-beats, hip hop, dancehall reggae, jazzy latin & soul beats, electro-pop or any number of fusions across these styles

“I like to explore versatility in the mix for any occasion. The intention is to take the listeners on a journey, as there is an unlimited amount of quality music available over many genres. Add to this the fact that today punters are more discerning, they've had more exposure to good sounds over 25 years of electronic dance music. The whole aim is to entertain, enlighten and expand knowledge while keeping a full dance-floor.

He has played alongside some of the biggest names in the biz, among them Gilles Peterson, The Plump DJ’s, Grooverider and Norman Jay, as well as supported bands like The Fugees, Ben Harper, Galliano and Faithless.

PRODUCTION
A co-founder of Wicked Beat Sound System with sound engineer Damian Robinson in 1992. After honing production skills, tracks were first released in 1995. To date (June 2006) they have released 5 albums, 7 singles, 22 remixes for other artists and have been nominated for 3 ARIA awards including the 2003 Best Dance Release Award for 'New Soul Breaks', an independent production licensed to Roadshow Music & distributed nationally by Sony Distribution. He had tracks out on the ‘Longrain 2’ compilation and two tracks on the ‘Below The Above’ compilation (Sept 2004). In 2007 Future Classic included the track ‘Yoruba Gold’ as the lead tune on the Future Classic Attractions’ compilation. His latest release is the 'Bashmental EP' which was released in 2008 on Brighton (UK) label LateNite Lounging.
