Few years later Grant landed his first gig at his school social with names like D.J Cleo and Naked. Grant was then aprroached for his D.J alias which he then jokingly replied "call me D.J flour-as in the baking mix". The promoter misheard him say as D.J Flower and this name was printed on the flyer.
