Over Halloween weekend legendary Dublin Club The Asylum had another reunion party with Hardfloor, Shades of Rhythm, Oliver Leib, Blue Amazon and a whole host of Irish DJs including Casper, Dean Sherry, Pat Hyland, Liam DOllard etc and Nice & Nasty's Desy Balmer aka Heretics of Disko aka Remlab. Desy Balmer's Nice & Nasty records has been nominated as Best Irish Label and Dublin Xpress VOlume 4 as best Irish Album at this years IDMA - Irish Dance Music Awards. Various other artists associated with Nice & Nasty and DUblin Xpress are also up for awards and ironically two labels nice & Nasty helped set up in the beginning, Gobsmacked and Space Pig, are also in the running for best label.

2011 has been a great year for Nice & Nasty and looks like it is getting better and better. Please cast your vote. Please cast you vote for nice & Nasty (Best Label) and Dublin Xpress VOl 4 (Best Album). Good luck to all involved.

Dublin Xpress recordings aka DXR released Dublin Xpress Volume 4 - an inspired collection of tunes that mixes back catalogue gems from Mike Absolom, Phasen, Cut Bit Motorz and E-Teb alongside future classics from Jay Riordan and Andrew Tiernan with the likes of Nachklangmusik, Ignition Technician, Andrew Duke and Julian Eustace on remix duty.

DXR Vol 4 is replete with club focused, dj friendly techno funk but there is ample tech house and deep, melodic vibes to keep people interested and keep the album played in clubs, in the car and at home. Dublin Xpress, Nice & Nasty and other irish labels, such as Gobsmacked, D1, Static, Takeover, Acroplane, Elevation, and Bastardo Electrico have really been putting irish electronic music on the world map complimenting the sterling work by the Irish Producer guild that includes Timmy Stewart, Chymera, Phil Kiernan, Donnaca Costello, John O'Callaghan and others.
