D.G. Hubbard has taken a winding path to land in the Miami music scene. Born in Fort Lauderdale and growing up in Michigan with travel to Germany as an exchange student helped to shape his perspective on music. His early journey took him from piano to orchestral tuba and electric guitar before finding a home in electronically composed music.
D.G. attended college to study mechanical engineering in Kalamazoo, Michigan and followed electronic music at legendary Midwest events like Plus 8’s Jak-O-Lantern, Sikness/Recovery, and Consumed events in Windsor, Canada and Detroit and Mike Dearborn’s Majesty Records shows in Chicago.
In 1997, Hubbard joined the Black Nation Records team, partnering up with its founder Jay Denham to plan a series of successful concept events most notably Peoples..
