Sharing his time between Buenos Aires and Berlin has definitely influenced the music of Igloo's label head Dilo. Tune In all week for his music on Sweat Lodge Radio. Artist of the Week:Dilo will air Tuesday November 2nd at 18:00, with repeats Wednesday at 12:00, and Saturday at 10:00.

The Interview:

1. You were born in Italy but raised in Buenos Aires, give us a quick low down of your background.

Actually, I wasn't born in Italy, although my grandfather was born quite close to Rome, and came to Argentina when he was a little kid. So we basically do have Italian passports/citizenship. I had a very Italian education (I went to an Italian school in Buenos Aires), I speak the language and went there many times, it's a beautiful place and I love their food. So I guess at the end of the day I'm a mix of Italian and Argentinean. I was living for a bit in San Francisco when I was a teenager as well. So lets add a little bit of that too I guess.

2. For a few years now you have been coming to Berlin for half the year and then escaping the cold winter and going back to Buenos Aires for the other half of the year. How does living between Buenos Aires and Berlin influenced your music?

I think it does definitely influence my music. I'm able to access a lot of information and connect with a lot of people by doing this. Then there's my label, Igloo, generating a musical synergy between both sides.

3. What were your musical influences when you were growing up?

First love were The Beach Boys, The Beatles. Then lots of 60's music…then the 90's came and I fell in love with other things like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Blur, The Cure. I started listening to electronic music at the end of the 90's…discovering stuff like Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Air, and one of my biggest influences: the label Warp Records.

4. We have heard you are returning to Berlin in May, do you have any plans show cases planned for your label Igloo in Europe already?

Not yet, though for sure there will be like always! we had a really epic Igloo night last summer at the Bar 25! was really cool.

5. You also have a few aliases, can you tell us a few things about those and also what are your future releases that are coming out?

A new Elephant Pixel album called "Ave Glitcha" will be released on a label from San Francisco called Two Circles.

Monotax will release a new EP of disco-funk-house on Igloo Pop and hopefully a new album soon too.

Also new stuff from my project with [a]pendics.shuffle coming out soon on 2 cool labels….I'm including in the set some exclusive cuts from this next releases.

Just came out a new EP of Dilo vs Gurtz on Chicago's label Klectik.

As Dilo, just came out Waheira album remixed volumen 1 and 2! I'm very excited about this release, featuring a massive list of artists incuding Mark Henning, Mikael Stavostrand, Agaric, Kate Simko, Beaner, Inxec, Someone Else, From Karaoke To Stardom, and more.

Artist of the Week:Dilo will air Tuesday November 2nd at 18:00, with repeats Wednesday at 12:00, and Saturday at 10:00.

Projektion 017 arrives in a unique but very anticipated fashion with a double dose of two of Argentina's most successful names in modern techno, Dilo and Gurtz.
Projektion 017 arrives in a unique but very anticipated fashion with a double dose of two of Argentina's most successful names in modern techno. Buenos Aires natives Dilo and Gurtz have been producing tracks for some of the world's most accomplished labels and their live sets have graced dancefloors in every corner of the globe. We're extremely happy to offer our very first two-part podcast from each of these gentlemen with 017. As outstanding as both of these two live sets are their deliveries couldn't be any more contrasting... Gurtz's opening part is a deep and dubby offering featuring several pieces of unreleased work for our noggins... whereas Dilo gives us a taste of some of his signature funk-infused and forward-thinking tech-house that's sure to get you moving.
