Much like its predecessor MT-029, the "On the Edge of Love" EP signals a renaissance within the Motech Records sound that aims for a return to the simple elements of the dancefloor and outright funk. DJ 3000 strips away the complex and cerebral elements of his previous productions and constructs a track based on the primal elements of dance music: a beat, a sample and the groove. Nothing flashy or gimmicky, just a track that aims straight for your inner funk sensor.
With the release of the "On the Edge of Love" EP, DJ 3000 continues to build upon his already impressive list of producers whom he has enlisted to remix his tracks. Ken Ishii, a magnate amongst the Detroit techno genre, flips and twists "On the Edge of Love" into a percussive and mesmerizing rework certain to captivate all listeners.
Barcelona's own Raul Mezcolanza dips into house, tech house and techno sounds that emerge as one of the most uptempo and funky remixes that has ever graced the Motech imprint. His mix of the original sample and infusion of percussive mastery bring out the full effect of "On the Edge of Love."
Alexis Tyrel brought out the bassline of the original production, runs a filter bath on it and then builds his own mix of vocal and percussion that give "On the Edge of Love" a whole new feel and sound that only Tyrel could extract and create.
Motech's newest artist, 17 year old Detroit young gun Max Tkacz, submerges "On the Edge of Love" in a dreamy sound that combines his signature minimal production approach and adds a new murky flip to the original. ...

A2: Alexis Tyrel Remix

DJ 3000 brings us to the edge of the disco in the Desert with his production on "So Sheik." The mix of dance music and Middle Eastern flair on this uptempo banger is an undeniable dancefloor weapon.
Samuel L. Session takes the original concept of "So Sheik" and drubs it deep in bass and percussion to beat you in the head and eardrum simultaneously. Sessions the tension build and build, keeping you just on the verge, and never quite giving into the urge. He lathers the sample in filter and lets the beat speak for itself.
Also lending a remix to the "So Sheik" EP is Alexis Tyrel. He strips the track down to its core elements and then re-assembles them bit by bit using his own elements all the while extracting a new level of funk out of the original.

Although in some parts of the world the summer feeling is not really coming through, we are sure this release will get you in the right mood. 'Song for An Hour' is a beautiful vocal track with warm sounds and dreamy pads. Close your eyes and imagine people drinking cocktails, dancing at sunny, white sandy beaches and we're sure this tune will stay in your head for a while. For a more late night club experience we are proud to have no one less then Detroit legend DJ 3000 aboard who delivers a funky tech house rework. Another more dubby and proggy remix comes from Manual Music head honcho Paul Hazendonk.
Concluding with the wonderful melodic techno track 'Memories Room', a solo production of Kres, we are sure this versatile package will offer something for everyone for a variety of occasions.

As the world ushered in 2011, Motech Records celebrated 10 years on the world electronic music scene. Like any organization that stands the test of time, Motech has watched trends come and go, all the while maintaining it's quality output of material from artists around the globe. Motech Records has moved forward by returning to the sound of its inception, unabashed Detroit techno.
Franki Juncaj, stepping out from behind his decade-old DJ 3000 alias, delivers the "You Can Run But You Can't Hide" EP. This EP takes us back to the music that brought us here. A four on the floor beat that will breathe life into the dance floor using the influence of both past Motech releases as well as dance music in Detroit during the past two plus decades. The straight forward essence of "You Can Run But You Can't Hide" will leave no ear mistaken about the direction in which Motech and Juncaj are progressing.
Continuing Motech Records aptitude for global collaboration, Juncaj tapped Greece's own Spiros Kaloumenos for a remix. Fresh off the launch of his Focus Records imprint, Spiros remixes "You Can Run But You Can't Hide" into a certified club banger that renders this EP a DJ tool rather than just a release. Also lending a remix to the EP is Spain's Fer BR. His inspired remix of "You Can Run But You Can't Hide" kicks the track into fever pitch. Conjuring the spirit of juggernauts like Axis, Accelerate or Plus 8, Fer BR strips down the original and beats you with it
Motech Records is moving into the second decade of the millennium by pushing its sound forward harder than ever before. Motech has always embraced a position of producing music without boundaries or borders, and in 2011 it will continue expanding outward through genres and preconception all the while remaining relevant on the world scene.
We will continue our journey with forward progress towards our ultimate destination, won't you meet us there?
