DJ Paulette

Biography of DJ Paulette

Real name / Paulette

GOLDEN YEAR

2011 is a Golden Year for DJ Paulette. Elected Best DJ’ette 2010 at the FG DJ Awards held in Monaco, November 2010 – Paulette took her place amongst the house music royalty including Joachim Garraud, David Guetta, Antoine Clamaran, Avicii, Martin Solveig and Bob Sinclar. She’s come a long way and in such a short time yet it’s still only just beginning. Being voted #1 BEST FEMALE DJ for the second time by the public and chosen above her peers Annie Mac, Sarah Main and Nikki Belucci is an outstanding achievement of which Paulette is justifiably proud and one which she intends to maintain.

Paulette’s residency at Queen is an unmissable event in the Parisian social diary and it’s no surprise why: created in collaboration with Charlotte Lions, Paulette’s Queen parties are unique, musically uplifting, aesthetically pleasing, elaborate and entertaining events that leave everybody wanting more. Audience participation is fully encouraged, the ambiance is always festive and the emphasis is on full hedonisitic enjoyment. It’s no surprise then that Queen Club have dedicated 31.12.2010, the most important party of the year, to celebrating the achievements and continued ascent of their favourite Queen of Clubs (and Hearts) The Incredible DJ Paulette.

No sooner had she polished her award at home in Paris, than she was making production partnerships and plans with friends DJ Michael Kaiser in France and Olav Basoski in Holland – two projects are currently under way before the year has ended. Her goal is to make music that gets played on the radio and bags her a record deal with a major label (of course)! Paulette did the exclusive Toolroom mix - Ibiza Fever 2010 for Radio FG (released May 2010): the album sales of which has put this amongst one of Wagram’s best selling compilations of the year. Negotiations are currently underway for a SS11 ‘Paulette’ made-to-measure compilation.

When she is not in the studio recording her weekly Radio FG show (which is now syndicated as far afield as Belgium, Morocco and the USA) you can be sure that she is working hard elsewhere. In 2011, Paulette will begin a programme of mentoring & teaching up and coming DJs and doing open lectures (lycée level - with the support and direction of Technopol’s Sécrétaire Général – Lydie Clark). Paulette says ‘it is essential to encourage and nurture new talent, the international spotlight is shining more brightly than ever on dance music so we have to keep adding more fuel to this fire from the ground upwards. You never know where you are going to find the next David Guetta or Afrojack and it would be great if I could help to discover that’. And whilst she is travelling the globe DJ’ing she can also be found, laptop in handbag, writing her book and looking for literary management and publishers.

Paulette is strong, sassy, sexy, super and she’s coming to a club near you. 2010 saw her adopted as an honorary member of Technopol – she was heavily involved in all things Technoparade – interviewing Antoine Baduel for the site, recording short film clips, storming the album launch party at Virgin Records and of course setting the Parisian streets on fire from her place on the Aphrodeejays Char on Technoparade day proper. Of this Paulette says: “It is an honour to be adopted as part of the Technopol team and I can’t wait to do it all again and more for Technoparade 2011”. With a busy touring diary that takes in some of the most prestigious clubs and events around France and Europe including Queen Club in Paris, Technoparade & Fête De La Musique (Paris), Soirée Bleue (Marseille), Sound Factory in Lyon, Cocoon in Frankfurt, Amnesia in Cap D’Agde, 4 Sans in Bordeaux, Villa Bivona, High Club in Nice, Jimmy’z in Monaco and select guest spots in Belgrade, Poland, Spain, Italy, Croatia and the Black and Blue Festival Main Event in Montreal, Canada, Paulette continues to be an enthusiastic, fervent and widely respected ambassador for House Music.

In other news, Paulette’s love of fashion and art saw her elevated to muse status when she was body painted live onstage by renowned artist and grafitti designer, Zilon in Montreal during the Black and Blue Festival 2010. On the business side, Paulette worked closely with the IMS organisation and was responsible for the live Twitter stream throughout the 4 day conference. It was a tough job but Paulette likes a tweet or two and more than acquitted herself. In 2010 Paulette continued her charity work, donating her time and skills to the Hustle for Haiti party at The End with Lottie, to the Flesh Reunion party in Manchester – (all proceeds to Albert Kennedy Trust and Peter Tatchell Gay Rights Organisation) at the Radio FG International Aids Day event with Bob Sinclar in Monaco and at the 20th Anniversary of the Black and Blue Festival in Montreal. Look out for the all new DJPAULETTE.COM / DJPAULETTE.FR website and podcast – online launch early 2011. And if you want to touch base personally, join the revolution in real time via her Facebook fan page (now numbers over 6000 active weekly members), or her Twitter account (4,300 and rising).

She’s ambitious, talented, glamorous, hard-working, intelligent, inimitable, much loved, hugely respected, lively, funny and consistently entertaining and that’s why she’s THE BEST FEMALE DJ IN ANY YEAR. There is only one DJ Paulette. But then you know that, because that’s why you’ve booked her.
