Rust is a Moscow born, Chicago raised dj that has now returned to his homeland after 11 years in the USA. Roustam Mirzoev is the bridge between the US and Russia with his music, holding both citizenships and being a resident and art-director of trendy Moscow club "TM" ("Technics of Youth") and tours Russia constantly. Every weekend he flies all over the great country of Russia performing for excited crowds his (usually) extended sets that perfectly combine all sides of house, minimal and reduced elastic techno.
2010 was a breakthrough year for Rust during which he performed as a resident and co-headliner for "Insane Fridays" — a series of Moscow parties in which he played alongside his heroes and friends Damian Lazarus, Jamie Jones, Droog, Mr.C, Noze, Dyed Soundorom, Robert James, Art Department, Shonky, Praslea and others. These parties usually culminated in extended early morning afterhours sessions in which Rust held his own in back 2 back sets with many of these great djs. One of these jam sessions with Jamie Jones and Robert James was recorded and has been a fan favorite: http://soundcloud.com/r_co/jamie-jones-vs-robert-james-vs-dj-rust-live-live-moscow-afterhours-party-10-07-2010
2011 starts a new page in Rust's career as he heavily moves into production. His debut release as part of the new super-trio Special Case was signed by LA's amazing upstart Culprit — run by the creative trio of Droog and already an accomplished label featuring releases by Hot Natured, Adultnapper, Subb-An, Lee Foss and others. This is quite an accomplishment for the young producer and he hopes to continue his streak with upcoming remixes for his friend Dj Grad on Dextrous Records and other releases during the year. His first release has already been widely supported and played by Rhadoo and Raresh from the notorious Romanian crew of [a:rpia:r] as well as Droog, Art Department and others. The future indeed looks bright for this young Russian producer, dj and ambassador of quality music in the motherland!
