Dualism are Kwamina and Gab from Zurich. Due to their graphical design.. art ballet and theater background the aesthetics plays an essential part in their life.
On a daily base they have to look at the things from every angle as they are used to expose and deal with visual forms.. shapes & colours as well as movements & motions.
At the moment however, all is about music. with their delicate flair for future sound-trends, in 2005 the innovative and versatile swiss-duo started to create their very own definition of the ‘so-called‘ minimal techno.
In 2006 their debut release on Pheek’s label Archipel ‘Speech Defect’ showed their skills in an impressive way. They attracted attention with their ‘A Fool’s Tale‘ EP in 2008 on Jeff Milligan’s cultlabel Revolver Canada.
Mo’s Ferry’s head ‘Dapayk’ and dutch based producer and djane ‘Estroe’ remixed the creative couple on the Dualism 12” ‘Hypnotized Mama?’ EP released on Oliver Lieb’s label Maschine in 2010.
Today, their sound appears minimally as twisted, queer-melodic deep and wicked techno with much love to the detail. Their sound surprises with unconventional rhythm-structures and many-layered sound-design.
Dualism’s distinctive style and preference for idiosyncratically and broken sounds as well as the clever use of vocal-snippets is always present on their productions and performances.
As performing live pa, there is no compromise on their set. always improvising one will never hear the same music twice. Haunting melodies meet deep beats and luring atmospheres in order to create a unique blend of powerful dynamics.
In January 2009 the duo started their own label Numbolic Records, later in August of the same year it was followed by their vinyl imprint Numbolic Unlimited. Since then the labels had a bunch of fresh & unconsumed releases on both 12” vinyl & digital format.
The couple have worked together with well established musicians like ‘Franco Cinelli’ - ‘Jacek Sienkiewcz’ - ‘Butane’ - ‘Lineas De Nazca’ - ‘Alejandro Vivanco’ - ‘Cesare vs Disorder’ - ‘Pheek’ - ‘Seph’ - ‘Rudolf’ just to name a few...
Dualism performed their live PA in Russia (Moscow / Rostov) - Slovakia (Bratislava) - Germany (Berlin / Stuttgart) - Italy (Milano) - Switzerland (Zurich / Lausanne / Bern / Lucern etc.) and at many other clubs or festivals.
They have played together with artists like ‘Anja Schneider’ - ‘Exercise One’ - ‘Click Box’ - ‘Steve Lawler’ - ‘Bruno Pronsato’ - ‘Easy Changes’ - ‘Barem’ - ‘Gurtz’ - ‘Treplec’ - ‘Bern’ - ‘Gebrüder Teichmann’ and lots of other wonderful artists..
