Eric Sharp heralds diversity and the freedom to express a variety of emotions and moods through his work, regardless of the incessant genre boundaries that are rampant in dance music. 2011 was a huge year for Mr. Sharp, with a flurry of collaborations, remixes, and performances at high profile events such as Outside Lands, Amsterdam Dance Event, Decibel Festival, SXSW, Ultra Week, Dim Mak, Blow Up, and more. As 2012 begins, Eric stands poised to have an even bigger year ahead, deepening his impact on the world of dance music with releases slated on Top Billin, Tommie Sunshine’s Brooklyn Fire imprint, and Markus Lange’s Platten Pussy Records for starters.

The release of “The Explorer EP,” Eric Sharp’s debut solo work released on his own label Rock It Science Laboratories, has been a definitive stride forward. The offering was featured on Beatport’s front page, lauded by top tier blogs like Discobelle and Electronica Oasis, played on radio ranging from BBC Asian Network to Babylon Radio Italy to FBI Australia, included in DJ mixes by the likes of Mustard Pimp, and rinsed on dance floors across the world by too many selectors to name.

Eric launched his independent label Rock It Science Laboratories in 2010, which he runs with NYC counterpart DJ Fame. Initially devised to provide an outlet for his own extensive output and collaborations, Rock It immediately grew in scope and rapidly won the respect of dance music’s elite while growing a grassroots following. The label continues to gain steam, with a constant flurry of activity including a track licensed to the hit show CSI: Miami, a highly successful remix contest sponsored by Reverbnation, KRK, and Gator and a bevy of exciting releases. With much more planned in the coming year, watch for Eric to continue rising.
