Growing up Funkalicious James was deeply influenced by his mothers jazz and R&B records as well as his cousins favorite hip-hop acts like Gang Starr and Arrested Development. Around 2004 he got into deep house going to party at places like Cheers @ The Djoon.
In 2009 Funkalicious James created with his elementary school classmate Le Loup the production duo Childhood ’87.
Thus in 2010 the childhood buddies released with Soul Clap a well acclaimed vinyl on Aux-rec a sublabel of Airdrop Records.
