Gonno was born in Tokyo in 1978.
Influenced by alternative music, Gonno got his first taste of live music playing in a band while he was still a teenager. Having been exposed to house music at various clubs, he fell deeply into the scene and soon began to DJ as a result. Since then he has been regularly DJing at a diverse range of clubs in Tokyo and Osaka as well as open air raves, all the while developing his skills behind the decks. His intriguing DJ set mixes a diverse range of styles, all aimed squarely at the dance floor.
In 2007 Gonno started performing live and managed to build a great reputation everywhere he played, including sending the crowd crazy at Bar 25 in Berlin in last summer.
Back in March 2005, his first album "My Existence" dropped on the Japanese label WC Recordings. “My Existence” is laid out like a non stop mix CD with a bright, melodic feel. The release received acclaim from many critics in the press. Gonno also released a 12” ep entitled "Hammersmith EP" from Re-Active (UK) in September of that same year which was supported by DJs such as Laurent Garnier.
In January 2006, his acid style remix was included in "Stian Klo / Timanfaya", and Gonno's own 12” ep "WC Succession EP" was released that October from Perc Trax (UK) as a split ep with WC Recordings's boss Salmon.
In April 2008, Gonno’s new 12” ep was released from Berlin based Merkur, and the sequel 12” ep with Salmon "WC Succession 2 EP" dropped on Parc Trax (UK). Also soon will be up coming new single from Beyond Records which is brand new label in Berlin.
Gonno has the ability to instill his tracks with amazing melodies and his tracks continue to grow strongly with each passing release.
