Biography of Gurwan Ar Gouilh | | | Real name / | Gurwan Le Gouil | | Moniker(s) / | Gurwan |
Head of Buena Onda Records and DJ extraordinaire, our man Gurwan is the coordinator of all things Buena Onda... Promoter, Organizer and DJ since the golden age of the early rave scene, he alone has the power to maintain a necessary degree of order among the talented young punks of the Buena Onda crew.
Ever since young Gurwan was able to groove on two feet he was totally immersed into a traditional Celtic music through his family of artists and musicians. At the time when Acid House shifted from London to Paris in 1987, Gurwan got to know the Pyramides and Jungle parties, at the Palace and Rex Club respectively. His encounter with electronic music was a revelation and catalyst to his plunge into dee-jaying, which naturally evolved into the rave scene party organisation in Paris and throughout the hexagon, inviting big names of the early 90s underground scene: Ritchie Hawtin, Franck de Wulf, John Aquaviva, Miss Monica,Jack de Marseille, Alton Miller, Charlie Hall, Moussa Clarke, Eren, Per.....
When the rave movement began to lose its edge and succumb to the mainstream, Gurwan continued on with club DJ programming and organisation, but quickly sensed that the original rave spirit had vanished and it was time to retreat and resource. Following a restless period of wait and see, all the while warmly nested in his countryside music factory retreat on the outskirts of Paris, he soon felt the necessity to become a genuine player on the electronic scene by producing new artists; hence, the creation of Buena Onda Records.
Every release since has had excellent feedback on the underground scene, which has elevated the Buena Onda Records label to becoming one of the most promising labels of tomorrow! Buena Onda has deliberately chosen to make fewer releases to ensure better quality Music that comes from the heart, bears the unique mark of each artist, and is designed to stand the test of time.
