Gus Gus from Reykjavik are an institution of electronic music, we could say “techno-pop oriented.” In fact, it’s not easy to frame, using a specific musical genre, all the work that the Icelanders have composed in a career spanning nearly two decades: sounds are passed from trip-hop/electronic of the first two records “Polydistortion” and “This Is Normal” to rhythmic-instrumental in technoid sauce of “Gus Gus Vs T-World” and “Attention”, until the last pop-dance experiments of “Forever”, house-minimal-dub of “24/7? and tech-house of the last “Arabian Horse”. Over time Gus Gus has undergone several changes of line-up going from nine to three elements in recent productions – President Bongo, Biggi Veira and Daníel Ágúst – as the last disc are accompanied by old friends such as Urður “Earth” Hákonardóttir, Högni Egilsson and Davíð þór Jónsson.
