Incyde

Biography of Incyde

Real name / Alex Bishop
Moniker(s) / Alex Incyde

Originally from outside Boston, Incyde first became involved in electronic music through his work at Hotflush Recordings while living in London on a university work program in 2007, where he began deejaying in the city's thriving dubstep scene, and began hosting a regular radio show on the reputed online station Sub.FM. In 2008, he moved to New York City, beginning a residency at the nation’s founding dubstep event, Dub War, where he developed a reputation for his tasteful selection and genre-bending explorations into bass music, alongside founders Dave Q, Joe Nice, and emcee Juakali in the earth-shaking basement of the now defunct club Love in Manhattan.

Progressively focusing more energy on enhancing his sets, his productions were first met with support from Mary Anne Hobbs of BBC Radio 1 and Scuba in 2010, and he made appearances at events around the country including The Bunker in NYC, Seattle's Decibel Festival, Bassic in Boston, and monthly in-store sessions at Brooklyn's Halcyon Records. His debut "Axis", released on Hotflush's BACK AND 4TH compilation in April 2011, was followed by the four-track "Telophase" EP on dub techno veteran Brendon Moeller's Steadfast Records in August. As a producer, this is only the beginning of Incyde’s path, as he melts and reshapes broken beats and bass into his own signature concoctions, now residing on the island of Maui, Hawaii. If otherworldly futuristic beat & bass explorations are what you’re after, look no further.
