Jake Patrick

Biography of Jake Patrick

Real name / Jake Cohen
Moniker(s) / Delinquent Frequency

JAKE PATRICK [Harmonic, Music Savages, Tinyshine] grew up in rural Maine with classic rock, jazz, blues, soul, funk, and reggae influences from his hippie parents. After being encouraged at a young age by his mother to not follow musical trends, and to truly discover and absorb music on his own, he stumbled across the likes of Kraftwerk, Prodigy, and every PURE DISCO compilation every put together. At age 15, he developed a serious dependency on electronic music while immersed in the rave scene in New England. He found a group of people who’s intention was to use music to create a movement—an intention similar to that his parents had experienced almost 40 years earlier. Since then, Jake has been fueled by enhancing and evolving underground techno culture across the United States. As a producer, DJ and VJ, Jake has been pushing his artistic boundaries for 10 years to bring his audience a complete package of envelope-pushing sounds and visions.
Jake has spent the last 6 years in Los Angeles constantly showcasing his sets at the city’s most revered electronic music nights. The sound he has developed is a fusion of stripped down house and bouncy minimal techno. His fierce passion for sexy, slinky, forward-thinking house and techno, paired with a unique layered mixing style has found him bookings across the country, but also residencies at two of the most established super clubs in the United States; Giant @ VANGUARD (04/07-10/07), and currently Avaland @ AVALON. Other projects of his include DELINQUENT FREQUENCY, a tag-team performance with friend Matthew Derham, and MUSIC SAVAGES (www.musicsavages.com), a west coast based DJ collective he co-founded that hosts an array of comical sleazy events with seriously sleazy music.
His special event and media production company HARMONIC has been hosting fashion shows, movie premieres, club nights, and underground parties since 2005, including the official annual closing party (Nikki Beach) at Winter Music Conference in Miami, the opening and closing parties of Lovefest in San Francisco, not to mention the infamous HEAR series in LA. Dandy Jack & Sonja Moonear, Mr. C, Clive Henry, Pan-Pot, Adultnapper, Jan Krueger, Derek Plaslaiko, Jason Emsley, Franklin de Costa, along with so many others, have delivered epic performances for Jake and Harmonic.
Whether it be as a DJ, throwing next-level parties, or producing music that makes you want to groove, Jake Patrick’s contribution to pushing dance music and its culture forward is something that he will continue to dedicate himself to for years to come.
