Biography of James Venturi | | | Moniker(s) / | James Venturi |
James Venturi is an avid record collector and a very eclectic artist. He started djing at the age of 15 and has never given up his dream of leaving a small mark in the electronic music business.
Inspired by artists such as Richie Hawtin, Robert Hood, Carl Craig and the masters of Detroit he decided to set up a small studio in his apartment to fulfill his desire in making music; this resulted in being signed with labels such as Trapez Ltd, Multivitamins, Safari Electronique, Atypical Farm
James's music is characterised by having a dark sound, since the darkness is the habitat of every dj, it feels natural for him to transmit this through his own music.
He enjoys playing long dj sets, and it is not unusual for him to open an event and play from 3 to 4 hours; this is due to the fact that in his opinion an artist should create a wave with his music rather than just banging tunes around.
His style is always groovy, spacing from minimal to techno, and is always aiming to please the crowd, with a great deal of research behind the musical selection. |
