Biography of Jamie Bellal
Music has always been a part of Jamie's life. Ever since the age of 9 where he picked up PPK's ResuRection on CD, he has been infatuated with Trance, Tech House, Deep House and Techno.
"I've been writing about music on my blog YAB London for almost two years. I've been secretly perfecting my skills as a DJ in my house. As soon as I got my first set at Ministry of Sound, I knew what to take seriously. And so I am."
Starting off on Traktor, Jamie learnt the fundamental structures of House tracks - where their breakdown was, their drop and where the euphoria in the track was.
"I didn't have any hardware, I simply used my Mac so frankly I did start out as a Laptop DJ, but hey where can someone start? My good friend DJ Alex Kella lent me his old Numark Mixdeck Pro and within one evening, I found myself mixing flawlessly. The step up was immense and you can almost feel it through your fingertips."
Currently a scholar at University of Roehampton, SW London studying and practising Journalism, Jamie Bellal hopes to enter the music industry not only as a DJ/Producer but also as someone people speak to for advice, or someone who wants to point them in the right direction.
"I love music, it's as simple as that. I want to help others, get them heard and spoken to. There's a lot of talent being left in the dark, and the feeling for me to play their tunes as well as mine when I undertake producing will be phenomenal."
