Jay Bliss

Mon, 04 Oct 2010  /  Post a comment
Jay Bliss began his career organizing underground raves. Together with Markus Homm has opened the only record shop in Romania, 'Electrique Boutique. Not satisfied, then, he founded Audio Exposed, the first net label Romanian techno music. This was a way for him to present to the public world showcasing his style somewhere between house and techno.
1. K-nights “First of…”

This is a live recorded track with that special raw feeling, bridging the gap between techno and house. Out on Livejam Records.

2. Patricia Kaas “Reste Sur Moi (Danny Tenaglia’s Blue Velvet Dub Mix)”

Classic track from 1993. A very inspired remix from Danny Tenaglia, with just touches of voices.

3. Jay Bliss “Sandblast”

A track i wrote this summer, with really heavy beats and some detroitish pads and a vocal touch. Will be out also this autumn on All Inn Records.

4. Dan Ghenacia & David Duriez “Spirals And Dubs (Duriez Mix)”

This mix is the best of the three from the EP, with a nice deep bassline and plenty of peripheral action to keep the interest.

5. Anonym “Lost Tango”

From 2005, one of my favourite tracks from Anonym. The track goes back to the floors with some bass-driven tech-house grooves, joined by crisp beats and dubbed out synth lines.

6. Egal 3 “Hard To Get”

Soon to be realeased on Monique Musique, it a track from two very young and very talented guys from Romania. As I’m writing this text I’m working on a remix for this track which will be out later this autumn.

7. Oliver Narbona “Rhythm”

Out on Alenda Housemusic. Really powerful dancefloor track. A lot of loopy percutions with just a touch of vocal, makes this track very effective.

8. Scott & Aroop Roy “Moments Never Last”

Out on a compilation from The Gym, Iron & Tears Vol. 1, this is my favourite track from all. Really effective grooves with some nice organ pads.

9. MD’Z Revenge “The Banger”

Very loopy track from Mike Dunn out in 2001. I’ve been spinning this track for a very long time. Perfect as a DJ tool or for warm-ups.

10. Space Ranger “Herbal Cake”

The track is an electronic soul disco dance floor smasher, a chugging beat with a filtering saw wave weave their way through the track, as disco guitars and mo-town-esq horns and strings stab their way through the groove. The rhythmical use of the vocal helps to keep everyone on the good foot.
