 | | Getting interested in dance music while working for Ghostly International and catching rides to Detroit, Joey Hansom soon learned to mix vinyl himself. In 2007 he ditched the States for Berlin, rearing his passion for DJing but promptly overdosing on techno. Leading from this, he carved a more melodic style with an emphasis on songcraft, weaving together tunes from the last several decades, disregarding the mythical binary of underground versus mainstream. Aside from playing throughout Europe (London, Helsinki, Bucharest), Joey has DJed some of Berlin’s top clubs and parties (Watergate, Bar 25, Horse Meat Disco), sharing the bill with veterans who inspired him (Daniel Wang, Optimo) as well as live acts from the contemporary electronic realm (Little Dragon, Blondes, Maria Minerva).
