Q: What is your music background?

Knyaginya: My music background was developed in natural beauty process that reflected on my inner world. At the age of 5 I started going to music school study on piano and organ. At that time I couldn’t even think about the existence of electronic music. Later, when I became a fan of dance music, I realize how much this music breathtaking and take me away, playing the rhythm and sound of now days, the present. Some people say thats this kind of electronic music is similar to “architecture shapes”, kind of frozen music, to conclude St. Petersburg is frozen dance music nation. It’s a city of three Russian revolutions, but in fact there were four, there was also the Rave revolution that I was witnessed and participated in. Of course, a minor participant, but a witnesses without a doubt.

Q: When did you start to DJ?

Knyaginya: I closely tied my life with music when I moved to Moscow. I influence by one of the most popular Moscow DJ of that time Dj Shushukin. Thanks to him I got my first experience and practice in playing. That was also when I realized that I didn’t want to be just a DJ, I also wanted this profession to become the means of my self-expression. Maybe that’s why I didn’t pay much attention to promoting myself as a DJ, mean it is more important not who is playing, but what he is playing and how. As for me, the dramaturgy of my set is very important. I thoroughly prepare for my performances, selecting not only the music but also my image which is the continuation of my music, image which i want my music conveys. I try to visualize the mood and give a message, above all I have to conform myself to a sophisticated audience. I hope you will be able to visit one of my future gigs, to feel it!

Q: Do you think that social networking (soundcloud, myspace, facebook) & the idea that djs are self-promoters are beneficial for the industry or the opposite?

Knyaginya: What can be bad in delivering joy to people instantly? From the creative point of view, it is great, of course.

Q: Art & Music have an impact on both young and old people; everyone is influenced by success and glory. What advice do you have for those who are looking for such a success?

Knyaginya: First of all you must love what you do. Then you need a good attitude for business. More than wide knowledge about different genres, you also need to feel it in yourself by A super sensitive ear for materials that could be hits. And don’t forget that success does not come from nothing, it’s a result of a hard work.

Q: This days you working on your own production, What you can tell about your up-coming solo project?


Knyaginya: Beware of your desires for they might come true! On the other hand, it is better if you knock down the success than it knocks down you. Sorry but it’s to early to reveal it – You must be patient and you will find out soon.

Q: What are the main themes or topics for most of your tracks and who writes your songs? When is it supposed to be released?


Knyaginya:I am manage to create things that will make people feel something special and hopefully inspire them to make world better and more beautiful place. I have many co-authors, but the main idea and the general concept is usually mine. This applies to both music and image. These days I’m working on my first album which is my biggest challenge so far, and I will do my best to release it soon.

Q: What can we expect from you in this coming year?


 Knyaginya: You want to make the gods laugh, tell them about your plans. I hope that I can accomplish all I have planned and come up with new ideas and music.
