Biography of Lance Harrison | | | Moniker(s) / | Forty6&Two |
Lance Harrison, H as his known, was born and raised in the ‘burbs of Melbourne, Australia. Lances love for music began while imitating his favorite bands on his drum kit throughout his teenage years. The Tea Party, Tool, Faith No More, Mr Bungle, The Necks, Nine Inch Nails and RATM would leave a profound mark on Lances musical life.
Lances transformation into the electronic scene began in 1999 while attending the infamous Sunnyside Up Parties. There he discovered his love for deep, underground music listening to the likes of Gab Oliver, Phil K and Ozzie LA. He would quickly change his lifestyle to accommodate for his new passion, giving up his day job and landing a job in a record store, DMC. Lance’s passion for the music would lead him to become the vinyl buyer and manager of DMC Records. Through unlimited resources and meeting fresh, enthusiastic people his musical tastes evolved to what he plays and produces today.
From 2001 to 2004 Lance was successful in the Melbourne underground scene, running parties such as Likuid and Phonographed. During this time he had supported the likes of Tyler Stadius, Asad Rizvi, Chris Lum, Kaskade & Desyn Masiello.
Lance has played at some of Australia’s finest clubs and parties such as Sunny, Clandestine, Pinksilver, Phonographed, Blow Your Own Way, Local Extracts, Deep Chord, Undercurrents, Phreakin, Nano and Likuid. Lance has also supported some of the finest dj’s to ever come to Melbourne including Alex Smoke, Audiofly and Rob Acid.
Lance has also performed on the international stage headlining at Double 6 in Bali in 2004 and in 2006 playing in Portugal & London. His hard work would pay off in September 2006 being invited to play with Jeremy Caulfield, Alex Smoke, Onur Ozer, Matthias Kaden, Touane and Lee Smith at the Dumb Unit vs Vakant party at the Watergate Club in Berlin, Germany.
In 2007 Lance began his production as H-Four & with Mark Baumann as Forty6&Two. Lance has remixed fellow Pinksilver artist Markojux on the Impossible Objects Remixes and then contributed to the Pinksilver 365 compilation with his track Aeroplance Blonde.
2008 saw Lance have a release on Philly label Unfoundsound with Vegemite On Toast, a collaboration showcasing some of Melbournes best up and coming artists including Markojux, Paul Agius, Craig McWhinney and Stuart McKeown.
In late 2008 Lance teamed up with Markojux as Forty6&Two to create the Roter Schlauch EP which can be found on Pinksilver's latest project, Pinksilver LTD, a limited vinyl press that can be found in all good record stores. Fellow friend Pawas did an amazing remix.
