Purveyors of one of electronic music's wittiest blogs in Feel My Bicep they may be, but when it comes to production, this Northern Ireland-bred, London-based DJ duo have an aura that transcends the usual ersatz buzz. The ever canny Will Saul has already had the perspicacity to ink Bicep in for a release on Aus later in 2012—but "$tripper" is more than a whistle whetter. It is, admit Bicep, an unashamed celebration of '90s New Jersey garage—fruity, wild, sweaty, party music. It features a (possibly) orgasmic lady grunting, Nervous skippity-hop percussion, quivering bass stabs and a menacing single-note synth undertow. The key to its success is simplicity.
The flip, a sultry Studio 54-style disco burner called "A Man's Best Friend," is rather a mystery—but few will care that it's artist Unknown considering the A-side it shares the 12-inch with. Tantalisingly, "$tripper" is vinyl only at present—head to Bicep's Soundcloud page and there are punters lying prone in supplication, begging to be sent MP3 versions. They may eventually get their wish for a digital release. In the meantime, for those lucky few with the black stuff, "$tripper" is dance floor gelignite.

Tue, 05 Jul 2011  /  Post a commentWe are pumped to have a mix from the masterminds of the party A&A, which was recorded live at Love Fever Studio Party on the 28th May. Anyone who has been to a LF party before can vouch, expect to hear the unexpected in a way that just makes sense
“Man that was crazy, raw, felt like The Warehouse” Larry Heard
“I love what you guys do, I was almost like ‘fuck london’ till this” Gadi Mizrahi (wolf + lamb)
“You’re the only guys that get it, this is the by far the best party I’ve played in London” Motor City Drum Ensemble
Harvey now famously said last week he didn’t know if there was still a music scene happening in London, well he needs to get down to Love Fever. LF has been at the fore-front of the underground scene in London over the last 2 years, keeping their parties on the low and not advertising guests until right before the event…This has created an atmosphere where people come for the party not for the name in lights, saying that they do have some nice friends who sometimes come and spin…Hunee, Nicky Siano, MCDE and DJ Sprinkles to name a few.
We are pumped to have a mix from the masterminds of the party A&A, which was recorded live at Love Fever Studio Party on the 28th May. Anyone who has been to a LF party before can vouch, expect to hear the unexpected in a way that just makes sense. Everything from NY house to improvised sax solo make their way on to the turntables, all in a coherent manner, A&A are really top DJs and vinyl purists at heart that know how to rock a party with ease.
Drippin with sleaze of the right kind, this mix is only the smallest of intros…and i’m sure this is only the start of the Love Fever world domination.
“methodical purveyors of mischief, with more internet indiscretions between them than your average new york senator” – A&A

Fri, 01 Apr 2011  /  Post a commentIn anticipation of their forthcoming party with RA Album of the year winner DJ Sprinkles on Saturday 2nd April, the Love Fever boys have dropped in with a slightly alternate chart this month. Rather than the house music that keeps the dancefloor packed, A&A have taken it down a tempo with a selection of tracks to round off the night or kick start the morning. Pure unadulterated sleaze.

Wed, 17 Nov 2010  /  Post a commentA review of our last Love Fever party from the RA crew...
When my time is up and I find myself stood at the pearly gates asking to be admitted, I'll be asked to look back on my life and ponder any regrets I might have. When St Peter asks me, "Thomas, my boy, is there anything you would have done differently?" I'll stand sheepishly and say, "Yes, in fact there is. In the August of 2010 I missed the Love Fever studio party with Gadi Mizrahi and Jacques Renault. I'm sorry, I don't know what I was playing at." I learned a hard lesson that night, and I was determined not to let Love Fever's next instalment pass me by.
As we entered into the space, a disco ball the size of a small planet hovered above a mass of wigs and Halloween costumes rebounding flashes of colour around the packed out Dalston studio. The boys at Love Fever are known for throwing the most glamorous of the East End's "secret" parties, and it seemed, with it being Halloween and all, that tonight was to be no exception. Balloons, smoke machines and glitter curtains were the order of the day, and even the toilets (of which frustratingly there was only one per sex) had hundreds of tiny glittery hearts strewn across them.

Mancunian DJ Trus'me had been a late announcement behind the decks, and, as the crowds quickly gathered to descend onto the floor, he served up a fine selection of slo-mo house held together with the glittery thread of disco. Special praise must go to the lads behind the bar, who—although subjected to manic scenes not unlike Tom Cruise's first shift in Cocktail, and with limited stock—kept cool under the pressure and managed to appease the hundreds of thirsty clubbers with a smile. The atmosphere was overwhelmingly friendly, and it seemed to resonate around the room. Everybody danced with everybody—boys and girls, young and old, clowns and zombies, all came together under the omnipresence of the spinning mirror ball.
Later in the night the dance floor thinned out, but those that were left were treated to a more noticeable move towards straight up disco and boogie classics, kicked off by Donna Allen's "Serious," a tune that has experienced a Robert Downey Jr-sized comeback over the last year. The decision to throw in Eric Clapton's "Cocaine" was a brave (and no doubt tongue-in-cheek) move, but it came off well.
With the man behind the decks expertly manipulating his way through some deep disco anthems, the remaining dancers were taken to almost orgasmic heights with Carl Bean's anthem "I Was Born This Way," which had the entire floor with their hands in the air singing along irrespective of sexual orientation. We were brought back down to earth lightly with a few soulful house tunes being floated our way, the highlight being Joey Negro's now classic mix of Erro's "Change for Me." My one and only complaint would be that it was all left a bit too late. Just as we were really getting into our stride it was lights on and get your coat time.
Mon, 16 Aug 2010  /  Post a commentAn exlusive Love Fever mix from Wolf + Lamb guests for our next Love Fever party at a secret Dalston space this Satuday 21st August
Somewhere along the Kingsland Road resides a breathtaking art gallery space and studio that has long been the backdrop for many a fashion shoot and art exibition, never a club night.
Stark white walls with skylights to the stars, laneway out the back, a completely raw space wit a perfect capacity of 250-300 over 2 rooms of discotheque-ing drama.
On seeing the space (last Tuesday!), Alex and Andy decided there was only one thing to be done. Lock down the venue, call up Wolf + Lamb and Jacques Renault, order a giant neon love heart, bespoke state of the art sound, disco balls, balloons, lighting, bean bags and throw their biggest night to date!
