Biography of Luca Doobie | |
Luca Doobie is a brilliant example of music can be dangerously addictive to a man. Guitar player since the age of 10, he's now one of the most important artists in the ever growing Milan's underground dance scene. During the last ten years he has been djing, producing, engineering, mixing and mastering music with extraordinary creativity and technical skills. His sound today lays on solid foundations that range from punk, indie rock, jazz, fusion, black music, hip hop, electronica, drum and bass, house and techno. His first release was in 2000 and for seven years after, Luca focused his attention on the technical & engineering side of things. However in 2006 he decided to turn more on creativity and arrangement, and worked on a few different projects like Prospettive Sotterranee (released on Safari Electronique) and Anomaline (relesed on Anomaline Records) showcasing his vision of club based grooves. He was able to combine different elements like 70’s funk with deep kicks, rumbling sub frequencies basslines, groovy percussions, and samples from old sixties and seventies records. Luca has been producing mainly in collaborations with a number of talented artists like Andre' Crom, Milly De Mori, Mirco Violi or The Electricalz, but South America Ep is his first solo release on SoundSelective Records. As a dj he’s been playing around Milan's both mainstream and underground parties like Privat Party, The Flame@Amnesia Milano, Queen@Gasoilne, Physical@LeJardin, Input@Leoncavallo, Trak@Bitte/Tunnel. You can also listen to Luca Doobie on the radio during Guida Nella Giungla show on Radio Poplare on thursdays, offering a selection of favorite underground house and techno newest tunes.
