Luk'ant (Luke Willingham) is a 20 year old student DJ/Producer from Stockport. He started his career accidentally by playing around with some Acid House and then Fidget House on his PC. He then realised he should make and record a few sets which is where the name" LukeWilly" was born. After playing the sets to afew people and sending various email out, a strange thing occured. He was DJing his debut set at the world famous Sankeys, Manchester.

His next major step in his career was during his move to Sheffield to start university studies in Product Design. He noticed all his sets were no where near as heavy as his older tunes so decided that it was time for a change and he threw himself in at the deep end. Minimal. His love for it grew so much that this took over his electro DJing almost completely. After trying to distinguish his own sound he moved to the more Minimal side of Deep/Tech House (anything with that funky groove!) . Not long later he started dabbling in production and decided a name change was in order to distinguish between his two sounds. Hence "Luk'ant".

One major problem in this switch was that Sheffield seemed to be suffering some sort of "techno famine". So much so that Luke took it into his own hands to sort it out. He started a night called Dysfunktional in a hope to bring all Sheffield's "tech heads" out of hiding. After 4 successful events with names such as Jamie Jones and Reset Robot he decided he wanted bigger and better crowds so a move to the more "tech-savvy" Leeds was in order. This is where Technotice was born at the much loved basement club; "Wire".

Today Luk'ant co-runs and holds several residencies in Manchester and Sheffield whilst djing elsewhere too. He also came 2nd in the British Student DJ Championships in 2010 which saw him play at some of Ibiza's best clubs such as Amnesia's Main Room before Eric Prydz as well as Eden and Ibiza Rocks. In regards to production, it is coming in the next few months so hang tight!
