New York City's own MANIK does the 33rd Podcast for the highly respected AUTOBRENNT brand. Now up on R_co's soundcloud, and one of the most popular mixes up there this year with almost 15 thousand plays.
From AUTOBRENNT-

"2011 has arguably been MANIK’s year. The NYC producer broke through on a wave of slo-mo house sounds for the likes of Culprit & Poker Flat before delivering a remarkably rounded full length, Armies of The Night, on Josh Wink’s Ovum a few months ago. It laced his love of hip-hop, instrumentals, r&b and house music from all eras into a filmic narrative that played out in true style.

Having since gone on to play all over Europe and North America, his name has become synonymous with a sultry, organic blend of house music that makes your feet move as much as it makes your synapses fire. And so it is throughout the fine podcast he has turned in for us. Working through the gears from breezy and beachy to deeper and more dancefloor, the mix comes nicely full circle by the end, finishing with some heart warming, soul fuelled sounds like only he knows how. Upcoming music on Hot Creations and a new EP on Culprit will drop this Fall.

To describe the mysteriously named M A N I K’s current schedule as busy is a wild understatement. With releases hitting record stores left, right and centre on a diverse yet heavyweight list of labels, a tour coming up, an album to promote and a girlfriend to please, life can only be described as manic for NYC’s in-demand tunesmith M A N I K. The Muted Noise caught up with him to find out the info on what makes M A N I K's schedule so manic.

airpod #8 introduces a breakthrough talent from air london’s North American roster. In little less than a year, M A N I K (note the spaces in the name!) has established his reputation outside of his home town of New York with an excellent slate of releases on, amongst others, Four:Twenty, Poker Flat, Culprit and with his main affiliation Ovum with whom he releases his second EP in late 2010.

Recorded live at his ‘I’m Nice Like That Studios’ in Queens, this is
M A N I K.

In celebration of Culprits 10th Release, MANIK- McLovin You EP, XLR8R is giving away a a free unreleased MANIK tune, 'Shaolin.'
NYC native M A N I K is the young producer behind the tenth release for West Coast house/techno imprint Culprit. His "Shaolin" track isn't one of the McLovin' You EP's four Chicago-inspired tunes, but still boasts a similarly funky sound. The tunesmith employs a relatively conservative arsenal of sounds on this b-side—effectively proving that just the right bass groove, bare-bones dance beat, and soulful melody can make an excellent piece of dancefloor music, whether it be vintage or simply inspired by the classics.

M A N I K's new EP is out on physical formats October 12th, and will be available digitally on October 28th.

The new Ovum kid talks shop and boogie with "Dont Forget to go home" and offers of a smooth and sexy, acid infused disco funk mix for your own boogie
The name "M A N I K" might spark a hint of familiarity. But if you haven’t heard him before, its probably because he’s been hiding for a few years in the confines of his “I’m Nice Like That Studios.’ “I [was] basically trying to avoid all scenarios of being seen until I felt it was the right time,” he said of his time glued to his fort of drum machines and synthesizers. Timing is everything and 2010 is his year. He’s already soaring ahead with debut releases coming out on Culprit, Ovum and Poker Flat – an impressive family of imprints for someone who is just getting started. We caught up with this promising talent at the cusp of his career catapulting to new heights and discovered a relentlessly driven man behind the mix...

New York City-based but thoroughly in tune with the Culprit feeling, Chris has been one of the young promising producers in our scene this year. After making his very conspicuous debut for Josh Wink's Ovum, he has been on a tear, with original music and remixes streaming out of his studio. Chris is set for a fantastic four-track EP for Culprit in September and we can't wait to hear him DJ. (MANIK for Culprit podcast on NOICE) http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?180501

An interesting and breif look into the new blood of deep house./techno. At only 24, its amazing how such a young person can have such mature taste in house music.
A breath of fresh air from the faceless droves of percussive, devoid-of-melody house, New York’s M A N I K (miss out the spaces at your own peril) has cut a fine line in making warm, tuneful deepness with a splash of tech soul. After completing a degree in Music Business, he soon set about spewing forth his own lovely grooves, and over the last few years he’s impressed with classy releases for Ovum, Four:twenty and Fresh Meat.
