Biography of Mark Devaney | |
It all started in 1988 with Lil Louis seminal house track 'French Kiss'. An obsession with all things 'house' and 'underground' developed. As soon as Mark was old enough to pass he was conning doormen to gain entry to such hallowed clubs as The Warehouse and The Music Factory in Leeds, FAC51 in Manchester, Nation in Liverpool and the legendary MOS in London. After years of collecting vinyl and listening to the pioneers of the house/techno sound, Mark made the logical progression into DJ'ing. Most appearances were made at underground parties across the North of England where Mark's trademark sound of a raw underground track selection could be seen to keep the party moving well into the next day.
2005 saw a move to South Yorkshire where the underground house/techno scene was all but dead. A chance meeting with a club owner and two local lads saw the first of Mark's nights born. Undone returned a real underground vibe to Sheffield and served to establish his name in the city. But, ever the innovator the next step was to tie up with another out of town DJ to play at Shoot the Freak which quickly became one of the most credible house/tech/minimal nights in the steel city. With guests from Circo Loco, Mulletover and Radio 1 gracing the decks Mark soon found himself playing alongside some of the most cutting edge underground DJ's in the world. |
