Born and raised in South Florida, Mark Starr has always been in love with electronic music. At 15 he began learning the ropes of DJing on an old pair of turntables he got off a good friend of his (DC), and never looked back. At 16, Mark held his first residency in South Florida with long time DJ partner, DC, and never looked back. Turning the heads of DJ's nearly twice his age, Mark had begun making a significant impact on locals.
Attending college at Florida State University, Mark Starr has been focused on attaining his double major in Psychology and Anthropology, while keeping true to his electronic passions. Mark has headlined nearly every major electronic music festival in Tallahassee, including the famed “Solstice” series, which pack over 1500 Northern Floridians every year, to hear the newest and most cutting-edge in electronic dance music. Mark has a residency at nearly every club in the capital town of Tallahassee, and has appeared at over seven venues around town, attracting a consistent following to his performances.
Now at the age of 20, Mark Starr has been gaining recognition globally with his weekly radio show Electrolove on the world’s most popular Internet radio station, and International Dance Music Awards nominated Digitally Imported Radio. With his unique blend of the freshest tech house, electro house, minimal and techno selections, in addition to his own personal mashups and productions, Mark Starr reaches thousands of listeners each week in over 60 different countries with this seamless blending of sound. By 2008, his mashups and personal edits have been in high demand, supported by international artists including Kid Dub, Joey Seminara, The Digitalist, and more. His edits and productions have been played from the States, to Germany, Romania, London, Spain, Canada, Austria, and beyond. He is also currently ranked among the top 600 DJs in the world according to The DJ List (www.thedjlist.com)
