RA user Elenko Elenkov has put together a 14 minute highlight film from this year's festival in Cologne, which features footage of Michael Mayer and Matias Aguayo performing at the Kompakt 3000 party.
The Kompakt man talks to MTV about his BumBumBox street parties, sandwiched between questions on his favourite animal and what he would do if he had a robot chest.
The Chilean-born producer gives a cutting assessment of techno's current fascination with world music, telling The Guardian that, "adding a few congas and a 'Latino' vocal does not reflect a willingness to learn from other cultures."
Fabric First asks the Kompakt producer to talk about the stories behind the tracks that made up his latest album: "'Menta latte' is the story of a police raid, swat commando unit style, in an Italian café in my neighbourhood."
Kompakt points us to a free track from Matias Aguayo, which features Lady Bumbox: "Bo Jack." It's the A-side of the debut single from Aguayo's new imprint, Còmeme.
