Debut release for Portuguese DJ, Pedro Henrique, on the Tokyo based Jansen Jardin label.
As the summer ends and the balmy evenings become a distant memory Jansen Jardin provides a chance to reminisce with the sedated, jazzed out keys of a mysterious Portuguese producer named, Someone.

‘Beat’ is a superbly crafted and beautifully played combination of Rhodes piano, languid electronics and sparse percussion that brings to mind the work of Metro Area, had they been perilously addicted to Qualudes. In these times of cut ‘n’ paste mixes of re-edits of remixes of edits, it’s wonderful to hear an original piece of music, full of melody, musicianship and riding such a wonderfully simple yet deliberate groove.

The first remix comes from the enigmatic Texan producer, Vermin, who turned in an excellent mix last year of Rhythm Odyssey’s ‘Move Groove’ on the Lipservice label. Vermin transforms the original track into a seriously wonky, lolloping house groove aimed squarely at dance floors that like it raw and loose! The man given the job of rounding up this truly excellent package is the original master, the Big Bear himself, Stevie Kotey. Stevie has been the mastermind behind so many great tracks over the years and yet again he comes through with a sublime slice of disco action. Keeping the musicality of the original track he pushes the tempo a little higher and delivers a gorgeous, jazzy, dubbed out late night rendition with that ever present Kotey swing.

New release on Max Essa's Japan based label, Jansen Jardin. In stores now...
Title: We Don’t Have Much Time
Artist: Yuki Suzuki
Remix: Neville Watson
Cat No: JJ007

Following on from her acclaimed debut last year on Jansen Jardin, Yuki Suzuki and producer, Max Essa, return with another slab of Far East magic entitled ‘We Don’t Have Much Time’. Combining Yuki’s sultry vocal with a very muscular, bass heavy groove, the track comes across like some pitched down (way down!) early ‘90s NYC garage classic. Big, rolling drums push the track along while some glorious strings and piano make sure, as usual, Jansen Jardin have something for your mind, your body and your soul.
On the flipside Neville Watson delivers one of his finest productions to date. Pushing the tempo up and dubbing things out he provides a brilliant reworking which is already causing a fuss from Tokyo to Berlin. Moody, emotional dance music for late nights and early mornings.

New Max Essa 10" out now on Is It Balearic?

Is It Balearic? bring us the much anticipated follow up to Max Essa's 2010 Balearic opus "Panorama Suite". "Heartache (Original 86 Club Mix)" is a funky early 90s inspired disco-house groove that seems to be channeling all the best bits of FPI Project yet manages to still sound brand new and wholeheartedly relevant. This track is heading for the dancefloor - unashamedly uplifting and funky - a real breath of fresh air. Sample free, without a hint of re-edit, and featuring Max on vocals, this is the bomb. I challenge you to not move to this. On side B "Feel It In Your Body" is a more chuggy, dubby affair featuring a vocal chant not dissimilar to Jimmy Castor's "E-man Groovin'". Funky guitars groove the track along until the synths lift it up to the next level. The kind of Balearic synthy slo-mo goodness you might have heard at Most Excellent back in the day...
