With every new track comes fresh knowledge learned and more experience gained. Sticking with a style similar to our latest The Oddest Prime production titled "Gaining Altitude," this track incorporates a broken beat tech-house groove along with an infectious melody. However, I went with much darker synthetic sounds which gives "River Monster" a more grimy and grittier sound. I hope you enjoy...

Taking advantage of a day off regular work to observe MLK Day, I put some studio work in towards "my dream." Here is a remix of me and Lexxx's collaborative project named "Neural Oscillation." Unlike most of my past productions, this track is a deep melodic one with emphasis on harmonic chords and a groovey bassline. I hope you enjoy...
Dreams as resonance in neural circuits:

During sleep the eyes are closed, so that the brain to some degree becomes isolated from the outside world. Moreover all signals from the senses (except olfaction) must pass through the thalamus before they reach the brain cortex, and during sleep thalamic activity is suppressed. This means that the brain mainly works with signals from itself. A well-known phenomenon in dynamical physical systems where the level of input and output from the system is low is that oscillation makes spontaneous resonance patterns to occur. Hence, dreams may be the simple consequence of neural oscillation.

After a year of hard work in the studio learning and experimenting with sounds, I've decided to record a live mix just in time for the change of the year. "RetroSpect" is a set of homegrown tracks intertwined with some of my favorites produced by other artists over 2011. Looking back at the past year not only illustrates progression, but also brings to light the unlimited possibilities yet to be discovered. Sit back, listen, and enjoy the ride...

Here's my rendition of Boris Brejcha's "Schaltzentrale" submitted for the Harthouse Remix contest. I like to describe this one as a techno banger consisting of squelchy noises on top of a driving rhythm. This track was a blast to remix. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed remixing it! Feedback is always appreciated.

Famadihana is a custom based upon a belief that the spirits of the dead finally join the world of their ancestors after the body's complete decomposition and appropriate ceremonies. In Madagascar, death is celebrated rather than mourned and when a family has the funds, they dig up the corpse, soak it in rum, and have a party before wrapping it up in a new shroud and burying it again...
...This ceremony is also known as the turning of the bones. We’ve named this EP “Famadihana” to symbolize how we’ve incorporated the musical influence left behind by two iconic figures into our style of electronic music. Both the late Jim Morrison and Rakotozafy provided inspiration in the creation of our newest productions entitled, “Open Door” and “Rakotozafy.”

“Open Door” was put together after searching for inspirational spoken word. Like many people before us (and without a doubt after), we found that inspiration in the words of The Doors’ legendary front man, Jim Morrison. While listening to an interview recorded before his death, we found it very intriguing to hear his vision on the evolution of music. Speaking from a perspective taken back in the late 60's and early 70's, Jim’s words appear to be spot on today!

While on the hunt for unique sounding instruments, we stumbled upon the valiha. Made from bamboo, this tube zither is played by plucking strings (usually made of metal or dried bamboo skin). The valiha is considered the national instrument of Madagascar. Investigating deeper led us to a musician named Rakotozafy who was considered one of the best valiha players in the world. Recording during the 60's, Rakotozafy left his mark and is still idolized today. Influenced by Rakotozafy's work and the amazing sound of the valiha, we have created a mid-tempo, dub techno track consisting of ambient sounds and warping noises. “Rakotozafy” is the B-Side to "Open Door" in the forthcoming EP entitled "Famadihana." Please enjoy and let us know what you think.

Inspired by a recent vacation to a tropical atmosphere, I present this premium blend of deep tech and house sounds. Sometimes it takes getting away from our everyday lives to take a step back and realize that life really is beautiful outside of the madness. Music, much like life, is beautiful in itself and should be enjoyed without any interference from outside perception, politics or substances.
