Stuff has met Mike Huckaby for a nice conversation about his beginnings between playing the drums, listen to his parents and Motown's music, interesting memories from Kraftwerk, Drexciya and J Dilla, without forgetting the activities of his labels and the way he approaches to remixes, ending with a good critique on the digital world.
Mike Huckaby was the man behind the legendary Record Time store and is one of the most acclaimed Detroit producers. Thanks to his wide music knowledge, he always was able to play behind every kind of old and new hype and in any room, balancing deep house and techno like a few others. In the recent years, he has also soon become one of the busiest remixers for artists such as DeepChord, Delano Smith, Dubbyman, Norm Talley, Rick Wilhite, Terence Dixon and Model 500.
