Miss Peta grew up in family of musicians and began playing the piano at 5 years old. Then at 12 years old, she had picked up the flute and other woodwind instruments (sax, clarinet, oboe). As a youngster, Miss Peta spent most of her spare time attending dance classes, and music lessons. Then at High school, Miss Peta was involved in school orchestras, music ensembles, bands, and musical theatre productions. Miss Peta even did some busking in those early days to earn pocket money. Music and dancing were always Miss Peta's first two passions in life. A professional dancer turned DJ, Miss Peta has developed a unique ability to penetrate into the minds of those on the dancefloor, and to deliver sounds that encourage everyone in the room to shake.
Since first gracing the decks at the Station Hotel in 1997, Miss Peta has built up a solid reputation in the Melbourne club scene for playing seamless, melodic key-mixed DJ sets which include an eclectic mixture of new electronic music, club anthems, and the odd old skool funky house number. Now, as one of Melbourne’s most experienced, professional and accomplished young female DJs, Miss Peta has gained the respect of many clubbers fellow DJs and event managers. Having spent most of her formative years behind the counter at many Vinyl stores - Miss Peta’s style and knowledge encompasses a wide range of dance music from dirty, jackin electro, hypnotic west coast grooves to uplifting house, soul, latin, tribal and disco. To sum up, Miss Peta’s style is versatile.. Currently you will find her behind the decks @ Robarta, Veludo, Room 680, Two Floors Up, Heist, and various guest spots in Melbourne’s biggest and best clubs and parties, around Australia and beyond.
