Dubspot interview with legendary electronic music creator, Moby, to talk about productivity, music production, vegans, DJing, punk rock, creative resistance and making mistakes for success
Moby… the legend, the visionary, the oft underrated virtuoso who as it happens is one of the friendliest, humblest, easiest to get along with people you’ll ever encounter. GottaDanceDirty.com sits down to interview Moby at Electric Zoo.
The bald headed producer talks to author Rick Moody about his obsessive collecting of vintage drum machines. This one is worth it for the pictures alone, though.
Moby plays an impromptu DJ set at The Nest in Dalston this Saturday, his only performance until his gig at The Roundhouse at the end of May. We put together a collection of tracks to celebrate this marvellous yet strange occurence.
The US artist has put together a homemade clip that details parts of his vintage drum machine collection, a collection he "presumes" is the largest in the world.
For Moby, if one thing is to be taken away, it’s that music is water. Music is what gives him life. Music is what he is made of. Pure, crystal, filtered through the mind of one of the few who can look him self in the eyes and know the things he does are true reflections of the man he is.
Moby (yes, thats right) absolutely destroys the discoteca of Space with a stunning set of rave classics, electro house monsters, and devastating remixes of his own tracks. This is possibly the wildest crowd reaction we've ever seen at Space... and that's really saying a lot! Are you ready? Kick back, hit full screen, and TURN IT UP!
With his new album Wait For Me out today, Moby gives a typically honest and engaging interview to matter on everything from his childhood to the influences behind "Go."
The bald one goes dark and downtempo for the first single from his Wait For Me album, complete with a video from eccentric cinematographer David Lynch. You can also download the track for free at Moby's official site.
The Bald One has finished the recording of his new album and will be going into the mixing studio today with an aim to release it in June. Sez Moby: "If Last Night was a 'Saturday Night 1 AM Dance Record,' then this next album is more of a '9 AM Sunday Morning Lying in Bed While It's Raining Outside Album.'"
Moby's Boogie Nights-inspired video features a string of sexed-up retro scenes. It features a pizza boy, various mock sex acts and a trio of girls in underwear washing a car.
