 | | | Real name / | Mathias Modica | MUNK is the DJ/ producer name of MATHIAS MODICA. Mathias runs Germany's leading Indie Disco & Future House label GOMMA along with Jonas TELONIUS Imbery. Described by The NME as "...the German answer to DFA records" Munk and Gomma have released some of the biggest tunes of the new Indie House scene: "Kick Out The Chairs!" - the coop between James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Munk. "Ce Kool" (Munk & DJ Chloe) and last years "La Musica" wich has been played by everybody from Shit Robot to Erol, Annie Mac, Tim Sweeney, Luciano and Ellen Alien.
Munk's new album "The Bird And The Beat" has been released in March 2011. Mixed by Etienne de Crecy and Jan Driver of BoysNoize. The album mixes up 90ies New York House influences with Italian Pop, German Electronica and French Chanson.
