Biography of Neil Scott | | | Real name / | Neil Diablo | | Moniker(s) / | Evil K'Neil / El Diablo's Social Club |
Resident at Manchester’s much-loved El Diablo’s Social Club since 2003, Neil's signature blend of leftfield house and spirit-lifting disco has earned him an unshakable reputation as a super-musical, crowd-loving crate-digger who never fails to set it off.
In demand across the globe, Neil has plied his trade alongside some of the disco scene's most-respected players, including Greg Wilson, Todd Terje, Prins Thomas, Danny Wang and Maurice Fulton, to name a few.
He is a also prominent staffer at Piccadilly Records, Manchester’s largest and most treasured independent record shop, where can be found behind the counter at weekends ‘pulling tunes’ for punters, or more likely, for himself. His DJ tastes feed into the stock that Piccadilly takes, pointing buyers in the direction of new-to-vinyl hidden gems that he’s been spinning off promo for an eternity.
In recent times Neil has been channelling his innate musicality and affinity for the dancefloor into a growing number of original productions, remixes and edits, and also a series of edit labels: To Rack and Ruin and Midnight Chopper.
Recent remixes have included Badly Drawn Boy and Bionics on Paper Recordings, and 2011 has seen his first solo release, ‘The Feeling’, which dropped on Cosmic Boogie’s ‘Boogie Originals’ imprint.
Many more releases are set for 2011.
